Magic: The Gathering TCG - Secret Lair Drop - Ornithological Studies is a collection of 5 alternate art cards: Baleful Strix, Birds of Paradise, Dovescape, Gilded Goose, and Swan Song.
Of all of Magic’s fictional creatures, birds are far and away the most popular. First invented by Richard Garfield in 1987, birds eventually made their way into Alpha via the powerful “Birds of Paradise” card.
We thought it would be cool to envision what birds would look like if they existed in real life, so we commissioned some naturalistic, classical illustrations from Ovidio Cartagena and Allen Douglas.
Never the Same Twice
Magic: The Gathering combines playing cards and trading cards: players face off with decks they’ve built by selecting cards from a larger pool. That customizability means every game plays out a little different.
The Deepest Strategy Card Game
At every step, players must draw on their critical thinking skills to calculate the perfect strategy, predict the oncoming attack, and outwit the opponent.
